A smoothie bowl is essentially a thicker, creamier version of a traditional smoothie, served in a bowl and topped with a variety of tasty toppings. Think of it as a cross between a smoothie and a parfait, with endless possibilities, so you couldn't get tired of it.

Smoothie Bowl

To make a smoothie bowl, blend together your favorite fruits, such as bananas, berries, mango, pineapple or kiwi along with some liquid, such as almond milk or coconut water. For an extra boost of nutrition, add in some greens like spinach or kale, or a scoop of protein powder.

Once your smoothie is blended to perfection, it's time to get creative with the toppings. Fresh fruit, granola, nuts, seeds, and of course, nut butter! In this recipe I used bananas and berries with some almond milk and after blending these together I added a generous spoonful of Filthy Fit peanut butter with hazelnut and maple syrup, topped it with some fresh fruits, and chia seeds, but you can also add flax seeds, shredded coconut, or sunflower seeds.

Try them with different bases like Greek yogurt or avocado for added creaminess.

With a rainbow of colors and textures, it's like a work of art in a bowl. A perfect post-workout snack or a healthy breakfast that will keep you fueled for the day ahead.
